Did you know that there are people, perhaps many people, who call good evil and evil good (Is. 5:20)? How does that happen? I would venture to say that some folks adopt such thinking purposefully, while others come by it honestly. But whether these people know it or not, they have let the world relegate \u201cgood\u201d to feelings and, ultimately, to what serves self. They\u2019ve embraced the errant belief that if something sounds<\/em> good and feels<\/em> good, then it must be<\/em> good. Some of these people are even Christians and, therefore, have applied this philosophy to the Gospel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because the Gospel is called \u201cGood\u201d News, then it must sound and feel good, right? Wrong. Only God is qualified to define what good is, because He is <\/em>good (Ps. 34:8). He is the source <\/em>of good (James 1:17). We have to go to God and learn of Him (Matt. 11:29).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But there needs to be a priority on going to God. We shouldn\u2019t go to Him after<\/em> we\u2019ve gone everywhere else. The Bible says:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fear of the LORD is the beginning<\/strong> of wisdom.<\/p>Proverbs 9:10, emphasis added<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Seek first<\/strong> the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.<\/p>Matthew 6:33, New King James Version, emphasis added<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Now, if you\u2019ve already gone everywhere else and found nothing, I\u2019ve got great news for you. You can begin to put God first! Today is a new day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, how do you go to God? One sure way is to go through the Scriptures. In his A Sure Foundation<\/em> teaching, Andrew Wommack has this to say:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You cannot truly put Jesus first in your life without putting the Word of God first in your life. Jesus is the Word! And a person can\u2019t truly be committed to Jesus with their whole heart if they aren\u2019t committed to the Word of God, and how can you be committed to something that you\u2019ve never read and you don\u2019t even know what it says?
<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Well, you can\u2019t. But once the Word of God is first in your life, you\u2019ll see things the way God does. He\u2019ll start defining things in your life. Andrew describes it this way:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You just get the Word in your heart, and it influences all of your thoughts. It influences all of your actions. Even though you\u2019re doing other things and still at work, and even though you\u2019re with your family and other things, you still are letting the Word of God dominate you! You can meditate in it day and night is what the Scripture says. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

This is what it takes to start building a sure foundation in your life that cannot be shaken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.<\/p>Matthew 7:24-25, NKJV<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
