{"id":1036626,"date":"2022-12-11T00:01:00","date_gmt":"2022-12-11T07:01:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/awmi1.flywheelsites.com\/?p=1036626"},"modified":"2022-11-22T16:55:17","modified_gmt":"2022-11-22T23:55:17","slug":"financial-stewardship","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.awmi.net\/blog\/financial-stewardship\/","title":{"rendered":"Financial Stewardship"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-jesus-said-trusting-him-with-our-money-was-the-least-use-of-our-faith-luke-16-9-11\"><strong>Jesus said trusting Him with our money was the least use of our faith (Luke 16:9\u201311).<\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>If we can\u2019t do that which is least, then we can\u2019t do the greater things. This is very important to understand.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-drop-cap\">I think the whole key to biblical prosperity is to look at yourself as a steward and not as an owner. Psalm 24:1 says, \u201cThe earth is the Lord\u2019s, and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.\u201d Everything you and I have belongs to the Lord. He just lets us steward it while we\u2019re here on this earth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Everything I own\u2014my vehicle, my home, my clothing, my jewelry, my savings, and even the food in my refrigerator\u2014belongs to God. You might think you\u2019ve earned your money and possessions by working and getting paid. <strong>You may have worked for it, but did you know that God gave you your skills and talents?<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s God who gives you the ability to go to work, and He chose you to be born into a period of unprecedented wealth and opportunity in the world. It\u2019s wise to adopt a steward\u2019s mindset and recognize this isn\u2019t my money; it\u2019s God\u2019s money.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-pullquote\"><blockquote><p>&#8220;When you get ahold of that truth and align your thinking with the Word of God, your attitude toward finances will radically shift.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re sitting there thinking the reason I\u2019m teaching on finances is so I can fleece you, you\u2019re either lying or you\u2019re totally deceived. <strong>I\u2019m teaching on this because it\u2019s the Word of God, and people need to know how to prosper.<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jesus said that the love of money is the root of all evil, but money itself is not evil. Often, people who don\u2019t have very much money spend more time loving money, praying for money, and desiring money than people who have their needs met. It\u2019s the love of money that\u2019s the root of all evil.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Money itself is neither good nor bad; it\u2019s just neutral. The only thing money does is amplify what\u2019s already in your heart. If your heart is right, you can have money and use money to be a blessing.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-verse\">\u201cLet him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.\u201d   \u2014 Ephesians 4:28<\/pre>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Most people work so they can live, but this scripture is saying the reason we work is to have something to give to people in need. I believe the definition of biblical prosperity is summed up in 2 Corinthians 9:8, which says that <strong>\u201cGod is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work.\u201d<\/strong> That\u2019s the reason I want to prosper\u2014so I can abound unto every good work.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You know, the Lord has given me a vision of ministering to people over television. Our television bill for airtime alone is over one-and-a-half million dollars per month. Taking the Gospel as far and as deep as possible requires money. The reason I want to prosper is because I want to reach people, tell them the truth, and I couldn\u2019t do it if I didn\u2019t have money.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So the reason for prosperity, if you understand it correctly, isn&#8217;t so you can get a bigger house, a bigger car, or more toys. It\u2019s so you can be a bigger blessing. I give away tens of thousands of books and materials and provide most of my teachings at no cost on my website to spread the Gospel and bless others. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-greatest-use-of-money-isn-t-for-yourself-it-s-so-you-can-be-a-blessing-to-other-people\"><strong>The greatest use of money isn\u2019t for yourself. It\u2019s so you can be a blessing to other people.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>If your needs are met and you\u2019re at a level of contentment where you don\u2019t need any more, then use what you\u2019re learning about prosperity to be a blessing and help spread the Gospel. It\u2019s important to understand why Jesus said the greatest use of money isn\u2019t for yourself. Money is just a tool. You need to see yourself as a steward, and if you do that, I guarantee it would kill the love of money.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You know, Jamie and I have been through some challenging times. When we first started in ministry, we\u2019d often go without food. And sometimes we\u2019d go into a grocery store with only seven dollars and think, \u201cWhat can we get for seven dollars?\u201d and we\u2019d have to pick and choose very carefully. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>&#8220;So I recognize that God is my source, and He\u2019s the one who\u2019s blessed me.&#8221;<\/p>\n<cite>Andrew Wommack<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>In Luke 16:10\u201312, the Lord says if you aren\u2019t faithful over that which is least\u2014talking about money\u2014He won\u2019t increase you and give you more. This is entry-level stuff. <strong>Trusting God with your money is a baby step of faith. It\u2019s the very smallest area of trusting Jesus.<\/strong> If you can\u2019t trust Him with your money, you\u2019re deceiving yourself if you think you can trust Him with your healing, deliverance, marriage, kids, and so on.
