{"id":1038222,"date":"2023-01-15T12:01:00","date_gmt":"2023-01-15T19:01:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/awmi1.flywheelsites.com\/?p=1038222"},"modified":"2023-01-03T14:42:49","modified_gmt":"2023-01-03T21:42:49","slug":"the-laws-that-govern-faith","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.awmi.net\/blog\/the-laws-that-govern-faith\/","title":{"rendered":"The Laws That Govern Faith"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-i-think-one-of-the-biggest-breakthroughs-i-experienced-in-receiving-from-god-was-understanding-that-faith-is-governed-by-laws\"><strong>I think one of the biggest breakthroughs I experienced in receiving from God was understanding that faith is governed by laws.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-drop-cap\">I used to think healing was just an arbitrary decision the Lord made about each individual based on some unknown criteria. We just had to believe as best we could, but we never knew if it was enough for the Lord to grant our request. But nothing could be farther from the truth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;The Lord showed me that there are laws governing how faith works and therefore how we receive from Him. We can depend on faith just as surely as we can depend on natural laws, but we have to know what those laws are.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For example, electricity has been around since creation. I\u2019ve read that a typical thunderstorm produces enough electricity to power a large city for a year, but mankind only recently learned how to harness that power. It wasn\u2019t God who kept people from having all the benefits of electricity that our modern lives have; it was their ignorance of those laws.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-verse\">\"Likewise, all of God\u2019s best has been available to us since creation\u2014and especially since the new creation that comes through faith in Jesus.\" \u2013 2 Corinthians 5:17<\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Healing, prosperity, joy, peace, and everything Jesus provided is available to everyone, every time, but we have to know the laws that allow His power to flow.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Take the woman who touched the hem of Jesus\u2019 garment as an example (Mark 5:25\u201334). She came behind Jesus in a large crowd and received her healing just by touching His clothes. Jesus felt power go out of Him, so He knew someone had touched Him in faith, but He didn\u2019t know who it was. That means He hadn\u2019t sized her up to see if she had done everything just right. No! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-there-are-laws-that-govern-faith-and-when-those-laws-are-put-into-action-god-s-power-just-flows\">There are laws that govern faith, and when those laws are put into action, God\u2019s power just flows.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;It\u2019s like turning on lights. You don\u2019t plead with the electric company to turn your lights on. They generate the electricity, but the power to turn the lights on has been placed in your hands. <strong>You have to flip the switch<\/strong>. They won\u2019t do it for you. In a similar way, the Lord said in Isaiah 45:11, \u201c. . . concerning the work of my hands command ye me.\u201d It\u2019s God\u2019s power, but it\u2019s at our command through learning and implementing His spiritual laws.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;The Lord has already provided all He is going to provide through the death and resurrection of Jesus. By His stripes you were healed (1 Pet. 2:24). We\u2019re already blessed with all spiritual blessings (Eph. 1:3). The power has already been generated, but it\u2019s at your command. You aren\u2019t the power source, just as you aren\u2019t the source of power for your lights. You could put a lightbulb in your mouth, and it will never come on. But a lightbulb that&#8217;s plugged in properly also won\u2019t come on until you flip the switch. Likewise, God\u2019s power doesn\u2019t flow until we flip the switch of faith.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;The woman with an issue of blood put a number of spiritual laws into effect that caused her to be healed without Jesus\u2019 knowledge: one, she heard of Jesus (Rom. 10:17); two, she acted in faith (James 2:20); and three, she said, \u201cIf I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole\u201d (Mark 5:28). She spoke\u2014this last one is a major spiritual law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-pullquote\"><blockquote><p>&nbsp;\u201cDeath and life are in the power of the tongue.\u201d<\/p><cite>Proverbs 18:21<\/cite><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Faith is voice-activated. All the promises of Psalm 91 are dependent on us speaking out our faith (Ps. 91:2). The Lord created everything by words (Heb. 11:3). <strong>Words are the parent force of everything, and everything will respond to words, whether positive or negative.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sadly, many Christians are ignorant of these laws, and just as electricity can kill you if you don\u2019t use it properly, these spiritual laws can kill you if you violate them. When we speak forth all our problems, it\u2019s like picking up a live wire. That same power\u2014generated to be a blessing\u2014can kill you. There is death and life in the power of your tongue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;By speaking only what we see and feel, we are hung by our tongue. When someone asks, \u201cHow are you?\u201d and you spew out all your hurt, pain, and unbelief, it\u2019s no wonder you aren\u2019t healed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>&#8220;You\u2019ll have what you say (Mark 11:23). That\u2019s a law of faith.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019ve barely scratched the surface of these spiritual laws that govern faith in this article.
