Wealth and business building are about giving, not getting. When I say\u00a0<\/span><\/span>give<\/span><\/span>, I<\/span><\/span>\u2019<\/span><\/span>m not talking about church offerings or charity donations (though I am including those). I<\/span><\/span>\u2019<\/span><\/span>m talking about really making a difference. Because everyone has a purpose and can make a difference.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Understanding\u00a0<\/span><\/span>how we\u00a0<\/span><\/span>partner with God to make a difference is the biblical\u00a0<\/span><\/span>foundation<\/span><\/span>\u00a0of business. Before crossing into the Promised Land, Moses warned Israel not to take credit for their\u00a0<\/span><\/span>prosperity<\/span><\/span>:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

As I say in my book Money Mastery, an important thing to remember is that we\u2019re \u201cmaking sense of making money, for making a difference.\u201d <\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

The following\u00a0five biblical\u00a0principles\u2014forming a biblical foundation for business\u2014are\u00a0from\u00a0the\u00a0first five books of the\u00a0Old Testament\u00a0(known as\u00a0the Pentateuch),\u00a0and they give\u00a0us\u00a0insight into\u00a0the\u00a0financial\u00a0mindset of the Jewish people:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

  1. Participation in the\u00a0<\/b>C<\/b>reative\u00a0<\/b>P<\/b>rocess<\/b>\u2014Working together\u00a0with God\u00a0to do\u00a0what He wants to do in the\u00a0earth, the way Adam\u00a0tended\u00a0to\u00a0the garden of Eden (Gen.\u00a02:15).\u00a0<\/span><\/li>
  2. \u00a0<\/span>Protection of Private Property<\/b>\u2014Giving people the\u00a0opportunity\u00a0to own property, resources, or assets\u00a0(Gen 13:15, Ex. 6:8, Deut. 1:8, Is. 61:4).\u00a0<\/span><\/li>
  3. \u00a0<\/span>The Accumulation of Wealth\u00a0<\/b>(a<\/b>\u00a0Virtue<\/b>)<\/b>\u2014Honoring and finding\u00a0virtue\u00a0in partnering with God to accumulate wealth, not mistaking poverty as noble (Deut. 8:18, Ps. 90:17).\u00a0<\/span><\/li>
  4. \u00a0<\/span>Caring for the <\/b>Needy<\/b>\u2014Helping\u00a0those in need, including\u00a0both charitable giving\u00a0and empowering\u00a0the poor\u00a0to come out of poverty on their own\u00a0(Deut. 15:11, Matt. 26:11).\u00a0<\/span><\/li>
  5. \u00a0<\/span>Limited Government<\/b>\u2014Allowing everyone to have the opportunity to\u00a0prosper through\u00a0limited government\u00a0involvement\u00a0and protection of private property.\u00a0<\/span><\/li><\/ol>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
    \n\t\t\t\t\t\t
    \n\t\t\t\t\t
    \n\t\t\t
    \n\t\t\t\t\t\t
    \n\t\t\t\t
    \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

    I also like to connect the Hebrew\u00a0<\/span><\/span>concept\u00a0<\/span><\/span>known as<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>t<\/span><\/span>ikkun\u00a0<\/span><\/span>o<\/span><\/span>lam<\/span><\/span>,<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>which means \u201crepairing<\/span><\/span>\u00a0or\u00a0<\/span><\/span>perfecting<\/span><\/span>\u00a0the world<\/span><\/span>,<\/span><\/span>\u201d<\/span><\/span>\u00a0with the Lord\u2019s Prayer,\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u201cThy kingdom come.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/span>Thy<\/span><\/span>\u00a0will be done in earth, as\u00a0<\/span><\/span>it is<\/span><\/span><\/strong>\u00a0in heaven<\/strong>\u201d<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>(Matt. 6:10).\u00a0<\/span><\/span>In the end, it all comes down to building<\/span><\/span>\u00a0wealth with God so you can be an even greater blessing<\/span><\/span>\u00a0to others<\/span><\/span>, not so you can<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>use it\u00a0<\/span><\/span>for selfish purposes<\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
