Most of us have the idea that if God wills something to happen, it just happens instantly\u2014that there is no such thing as time or distance or resistance to what God wills.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>But is that what the Bible reveals?\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

God\u2019s Word is His will. So when we ask anything according to a promise in His Word, we can rest assured He has heard us and that we have what we\u2019ve asked for.\u00a0But there are some qualifications\u00a0for\u00a0asking and receiving.\u00a0As James 4:3\u00a0says,\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume\u00a0<\/i>it\u00a0upon your lusts.<\/i>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The Lord loves us so much that He won\u2019t give us things that are bad for us.\u00a0And\u00a0Mark 11:24 says,\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>Therefore<\/i> I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0receive <\/i>them, and ye shall have\u00a0<\/i>them.\u00a0<\/i>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

We have to believe we receive what we ask for when we pray, and then we shall have it. This means we must have faith when we pray\u2014not when we see results\u2014in order to receive. <\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

Maybe you\u2019re thinking,<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>I believe what God\u2019s Word says, but I also can\u2019t deny what I see and feel.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>How can these things be reconciled?<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>There is a simple way to reconcile what God\u2019s Word says with what we see and feel. And for me, the key is found in the book of Daniel.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Daniel was a powerful man of God who served the Lord while the Jews were in captivity to the Babylonians, Medes, and Persians.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Through prayer, h<\/span><\/span>e interpreted Nebuchadnezzar\u2019s dream (Dan. 2)<\/span><\/span>\u00a0and<\/span><\/span>\u00a0the handwriting on the wall (Dan. 5), and\u00a0<\/span><\/span>he\u00a0<\/span><\/span>was delivered from the lion\u2019s den (Dan. 6). Daniel was no novice<\/span><\/span>,<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>y<\/span><\/span>et\u00a0<\/span><\/span>he<\/span><\/span>\u00a0didn\u2019t get the same results every time he prayed and asked things of the Lord.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

I<\/span><\/span>n Daniel\u00a0<\/span><\/span>9<\/span><\/span>,\u00a0<\/span><\/span>for instance,<\/span><\/span>\u202fDaniel\u00a0<\/span><\/span>had only prayed for a few minutes\u2014and was still in the middle of\u00a0<\/span><\/span>his\u00a0<\/span><\/span>pray<\/span><\/span>er<\/span><\/span>\u2014when\u00a0<\/span><\/span>the angel\u202fGabriel\u00a0<\/span><\/span>came<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>with\u00a0<\/span><\/span>God\u2019s<\/span><\/span>\u00a0answer<\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\tYea, whiles I\u202fwas\u202fspeaking in prayer, even the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, touched me about the time of the evening oblation. And he informed\u202fme, and talked with me, and said, O Daniel, I am now come forth to give thee skill and understanding. At the beginning of thy supplications the commandment came forth, and I am come to shew thee; for thou art greatly beloved: therefore understand the matter, and consider the vision. <\/i>\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

That\u2019s\u00a0awesome! I\u2019m sure we\u2019d all love it if God interrupted all our prayers to give us the answer.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

\u00a0<\/span>But in Daniel\u00a010:1\u201311, we see Daniel praying another prayer with very different results. In this\u00a0instance, Daniel prayed and fasted, and it took three weeks\u00a0to receive an\u00a0answer. Why did it take\u00a0only\u00a0a few\u00a0minutes in Daniel 9 but three weeks in Daniel 10?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The answer is that there is a lot happening in the unseen spiritual realm that we can\u2019t perceive with our physical senses. <\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

It<\/span><\/span>\u00a0didn\u2019t take the Lord three minutes to answer Daniel\u2019s prayer in Daniel 9 and three weeks to answer his prayer in Daniel 10.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/span>The Lord answered both prayers instantly.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\tThen said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words. <\/i>\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tDaniel 10:12<\/cite>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/blockquote>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

These\u00a0scriptures\u00a0in Daniel 9 and 10\u00a0reveal that the Lord answered\u00a0both<\/i>\u00a0of Daniel\u2019s prayers\u00a0from\u00a0the beginning, although the\u00a0period of time\u00a0it took for Daniel to receive the answers varied greatly.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\"ClockEven Jesus experienced this. Jesus healed ten lepers in Luke 17:12\u201319, but <\/span><\/span>healing\u00a0<\/span><\/span>didn\u2019t manifest instantly. It happened\u00a0<\/span><\/span>as they went<\/span><\/span>\u00a0to show themselves to the priest for their cleansing.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Mark\u00a0<\/span><\/span>11:24 says that we\u00a0<\/span><\/span>must<\/span><\/span>\u00a0believe we receive when we pray, and then we shall have it. That implies time. I don\u2019t think it has to take a long time, but it often does take some time.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Scripture reveals that<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>the\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Lord wasn\u2019t the variable in either of the answers to Daniel\u2019s prayers. He was the same (Heb. 13:8). But there was a demonic power that opposed the messenger bringing Daniel his answer.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\tBut the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.<\/i>\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tDaniel 10:13<\/cite>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/blockquote>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

This \u201cprince of the kingdom of Persia\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/span>is\u00a0<\/span><\/span>describing<\/span><\/span>\u00a0a demonic power that operate<\/span><\/span>s<\/span><\/span>\u00a0in the unseen spiritual realm.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\tFor we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. \t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tEphesians 6:12 <\/cite>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/blockquote>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Satan can hinder the manifestation of our answered prayers like he did with Daniel. If we don\u2019t understand that and continue with the false idea that once the Lord commands an answer, it just happens instantly, then our faith will falter when we don\u2019t see immediate results.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

What if Daniel had given up on the twentieth day? What if he thought,\u00a0I got an answer in three minutes last time. This time it\u2019s nearly three weeks. God must not have answered my prayer.<\/i>\u00a0If Daniel had done that, I believe he wouldn\u2019t have seen\u00a0<\/b>God\u2019s<\/b>\u00a0answer<\/b>\u2014<\/b>even\u00a0<\/b>though\u00a0<\/b>it<\/b>\u00a0was\u00a0<\/b>already\u00a0<\/b>on the way.<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Once again, Jesus said in Matthew 21:21 that we have\u00a0to believe and doubt not. Paul also said\u00a0something similar\u00a0in Galatians 6:9:\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>And let us not be weary in well\u00a0<\/i>doing:<\/i>\u00a0for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.<\/i><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The \u201cif we faint not\u201d is crucial to this promise<\/b><\/span><\/span>.<\/b> If Daniel had wavered in his faith, he would not have received anything of the Lord (James 1:7)<\/span><\/span>,<\/span><\/span>\u00a0but that wouldn\u2019t have been because the Lord didn\u2019t move. It would have been because Daniel gave up on his prayer.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Sadly, that\u2019s what happens to us many times.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>We need to remember\u00a0<\/span><\/span>that\u00a0<\/span><\/span>t<\/span><\/span>he Lord is\u00a0<\/span><\/span>always\u00a0<\/span><\/span>faithful to His Word and commands the answer to our prayers, but they can be hindered and take time to manifest. The<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>answer is on the way; but if it\u2019s hindered, we<\/span><\/span>\u00a0need to remember the Lord\u2019s faithfulness and be patient for<\/span><\/span>\u00a0the manifestation.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
