style=\"text-align:center\" class=\"col-xs-12\">\r\n    <h3>Genesis 1<\/h3>\r\n  <\/div>\r\n  <div class=\"col-xs-12 OverflowSection\">\r\n    <div class=\"sample-text-box\">\r\n      <div class=\"sample-chapter\">\r\n        <h4 class=\"verse-styling\">Genesis 1:1<\/h4>\r\n        <p class=\"verse\">\r\n          In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          In the beginning God\u2026 The Scriptures don\u2019t try to prove the existence\r\n          of God. They begin with the truth that everyone knows there is a God.\r\n          This is exactly the point of Romans 1:18-20. There is an intuitive\r\n          knowledge of God on the inside of every single person who has ever\r\n          lived. We shouldn\u2019t argue with anyone about His existence. We just go\r\n          past their heads to their hearts and touch the part of them that knows\r\n          there is a God.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          God is the Alpha and Omega, the first and the last. He existed before\r\n          anything else. He created everything else that exists. Some sci-fi\r\n          fanatics try to present God as nothing but a superior alien, but\r\n          that\u2019s not what this scripture says. God doesn\u2019t just have superior\r\n          intellect and know how to use natural law more than we do. He is the\r\n          Creator, not manipulator of nature.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n      <\/div>\r\n      <div class=\"sample-chapter\">\r\n        <h4 class=\"verse-styling\">Genesis 1:2<\/h4>\r\n        <p class=\"verse\">\r\n          And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the\r\n          face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the\r\n          waters.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          Of course, no human was present to witness the creation. This\r\n          knowledge was given to Moses by divine inspiration (2 Peter 1:21) and\r\n          thus is not just tradition or the imagination of man but truth. No\r\n          doubt this is some of the revelation that came to Moses in his\r\n          face-to-face encounters with the Lord. Not a huge amount of detail is\r\n          given, but it\u2019s enough to occupy our thoughts and answer our\r\n          questions.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          In just the second verse of the Bible the Holy Spirit is introduced.\r\n          Before any work of the Lord was begun, the Holy Spirit was present,\r\n          \u201cbrooding\u201d over the elements from which all life would be created. God\r\n          does nothing without His Holy Spirit. Likewise, no one can come to the\r\n          Father but through the ministry of the Holy Spirit (John 6:44 and 1\r\n          Corinthians 2:14).\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          The Hebrew word that was translated \u201cmoved\u201d in this verse means \u201cto\r\n          brood; by implication, to be relaxed\u201d (Strong\u2019s Concordance). This is\r\n          a word picture of the Holy Spirit brooding over the waters in the way\r\n          a mother hen broods over her chicks. The Holy Spirit was hatching the\r\n          potential of what God had created.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          Many people have made major doctrines about what happened between\r\n          Genesis 1:1 and 1:2. I guess it is possible that the Lord could have\r\n          created the heavens and the earth of Genesis 1:1, and then beginning\r\n          with Genesis 1:3, Moses might have been describing a re-creation of\r\n          the world after some cataclysmic destruction of a pre-Adamic\r\n          civilization that Satan ruled over. I can\u2019t conclusively prove that\r\n          didn\u2019t happen, but I don\u2019t think anyone can prove that did happen by\r\n          speculating on what occurred between Genesis 1:1 and 1:2.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          It seems to me that Genesis 1:14 disproves this long earth theory.\r\n          This account says the earth existed before God created the sun, moon,\r\n          and stars. That shoots evolution in the head.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n      <\/div>\r\n      <div class=\"sample-chapter\">\r\n        <h4 class=\"verse-styling\">Genesis 1:3<\/h4>\r\n        <p class=\"verse\">\r\n          And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          God spoke everything into existence. Everything physical that we see\r\n          was created by words. Words are the parent force and therefore, the\r\n          greater force. Everything physical will respond to words, either\r\n          positive or negative (Proverbs 18:20-21).\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          Notice that God created light on the first day of creation. It wasn\u2019t\r\n          until the fourth day that He created the sun, moon, and stars (Genesis\r\n          1:14-19). So, there was light for four days before there was a source\r\n          for that light. God is awesome!\r\n        <\/p>\r\n      <\/div>\r\n      <div class=\"sample-chapter\">\r\n        <h4 class=\"verse-styling\">Genesis 1:4<\/h4>\r\n        <p class=\"verse\">\r\n          And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light\r\n          from the darkness.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          Darkness existed before light. The Lord didn\u2019t create darkness (see my\r\n          note at Isaiah 45:7). It is just the absence of light. It is the\r\n          opposite of light. Once the Lord created light, He looked on the\r\n          light, not the darkness. Likewise with us, once we receive the light,\r\n          the Lord looks on the light He has created in us and doesn\u2019t look at\r\n          our darkness. He sees us in Christ.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          I don\u2019t really understand how the Lord divided the light from the\r\n          darkness. Today darkness is the absence of light. Once light comes,\r\n          even if it is faint, there isn\u2019t total darkness. So, how could He\r\n          divide the light from the darkness? Is it possible that natural laws\r\n          as we know them now are how He did this? Maybe light and darkness were\r\n          able to be present side by side before He said this.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n      <\/div>\r\n      <div class=\"sample-chapter\">\r\n        <h4 class=\"verse-styling\">Genesis 1:5<\/h4>\r\n        <p class=\"verse\">\r\n          And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And\r\n          the evening and the morning were the first day.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          The mention of evening before morning sets the precedent for the way\r\n          the Jews reckoned a day. Sunset is the beginning of the Jewish day,\r\n          and the next sunset is the end of that day.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          Technically, a day is one rotation of the earth. So, this account of\r\n          the creation has the earth rotating from the beginning of creation,\r\n          even before there was a sun to rise and set. See my notes at Genesis\r\n          1:3 and 14.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n      <\/div>\r\n      <div class=\"sample-chapter\">\r\n        <h4 class=\"verse-styling\">Genesis 1:6<\/h4>\r\n        <p class=\"verse\">\r\n          And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and\r\n          let it divide the waters from the waters.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          This might sound like the firmament divided the oceans and seas from\r\n          the water vapor in earth\u2019s atmosphere. But in Genesis 1:14 God created\r\n          the sun and stars and set them in the firmament. That clarifies that\r\n          this firmament was the realm where all the stars exist. Therefore,\r\n          there is water out there in the universe beyond the realm of the\r\n          stars.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          I\u2019m sure heaven has abundance of water, as indicated in Revelation\r\n          22:1-2: \u201cAnd he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as\r\n          crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. In the\r\n          midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there\r\n          the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her\r\n          fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of\r\n          the nations.\u201d\r\n        <\/p>\r\n      <\/div>\r\n      <div class=\"sample-chapter\">\r\n        <h4 class=\"verse-styling\">Genesis 1:7<\/h4>\r\n        <p class=\"verse\">\r\n          And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under\r\n          the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it\r\n          was so.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          This verse might indicate that the only water in the universe is on\r\n          earth and then on the other side of the universe where heaven exists.\r\n          If that is the meaning, then life as we know it on earth could not\r\n          exist on any other planet without water.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n      <\/div>\r\n      <div class=\"sample-chapter\">\r\n        <h4 class=\"verse-styling\">Genesis 1:8<\/h4>\r\n        <p class=\"verse\">\r\n          And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning\r\n          were the second day. And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be\r\n          gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it\r\n          was so.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          The Jews reckoned a day from sunset to sunset as the wording of this\r\n          chapter shows. See my note at Genesis 1:5.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n      <\/div>\r\n      <div class=\"sample-chapter\">\r\n        <h4 class=\"verse-styling\">Genesis 1:9<\/h4>\r\n        <p class=\"verse\">\r\n          And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning\r\n          were the second day.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          All the dry land on earth appeared in one day, which I believe was a\r\n          twenty-four-hour day. That would put the kibosh on many of the\r\n          theories of how the earth was formed. I have heard one scientist say\r\n          that there is an isotope in granite that has a half-life of less than\r\n          one second. That would mean that rock couldn\u2019t have been formed over\r\n          millions of years, as has been widely taught. It would\u2019ve had to have\r\n          been an instant creation, and this would fit perfectly with the\r\n          apparent meaning of this verse.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          Notice only the waters under the heavens were gathered together. The\r\n          water out in the far reaches of space, beyond the heavens, might still\r\n          be dispersed.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n      <\/div>\r\n      <div class=\"sample-chapter\">\r\n        <h4 class=\"verse-styling\">Genesis 1:11<\/h4>\r\n        <p class=\"verse\">\r\n          And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed,\r\n          and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in\r\n          itself, upon the earth: and it was so.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          The wording of this verse is very important. If the Lord had just\r\n          said, \u201cLet there be grass and trees,\u201d then when they died, there\r\n          wouldn\u2019t have been any new ones, and the Lord would have had to create\r\n          more. But grasses and trees were created fully grown and with seeds to\r\n          propagate the species. The original creation started from full-grown\r\n          trees and grasses with seeds to continue the creation.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          Because of this, the Lord truly rested on the seventh day and has not\r\n          had to create since (see my note at Genesis 2:2).\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          Notice that the grasses and trees were brought forth from the earth.\r\n          They weren\u2019t just made to grow in the earth but were brought forth\r\n          from the earth. They were already in the earth, and God just spoke for\r\n          them to come forth. Compare with Genesis 1:26.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n      <\/div>\r\n      <div class=\"sample-chapter\">\r\n        <h4 class=\"verse-styling\">Genesis 1:12<\/h4>\r\n        <p class=\"verse\">\r\n          And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his\r\n          kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his\r\n          kind: and God saw that it was good.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          Notice that the earth brought forth all these trees and grasses. It\u2019s\r\n          like God created within the earth all of the things that He later\r\n          brought forth out of the earth. They were already there and just\r\n          needed His word to come forth.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          If the natural creation had to have God\u2019s Word to come forth, so do\r\n          we.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n      <\/div>\r\n      <div class=\"sample-chapter\">\r\n        <h4 class=\"verse-styling\">Genesis 1:13<\/h4>\r\n        <p class=\"verse\">And the evening and the morning were the third day.<\/p>\r\n        <p>See my note at Genesis 1:5.<\/p>\r\n      <\/div>\r\n      <div class=\"sample-chapter\">\r\n        <h4 class=\"verse-styling\">Genesis 1:14<\/h4>\r\n        <p class=\"verse\">\r\n          And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to\r\n          divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for\r\n          seasons, and for days, and years:\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          This is really interesting. God created light on the first day of\r\n          creation, but it wasn\u2019t until the fourth day that He created the sun,\r\n          moon, and stars. There was light three days before there was what we\r\n          now know to be the source of light. Some say that original light came\r\n          directly from God as will be the case in the new Jerusalem (Revelation\r\n          21:23; Revelation 22:5). But God and His glory existed in the\r\n          beginning. It doesn\u2019t seem like He needed to create that by saying,\r\n          \u201cLet there be light.\u201d It would appear that the Lord created light\r\n          three days before there was a source. God calls those things which be\r\n          not as though they were (Romans 4:17).\r\n        <\/p>\r\n      <\/div>\r\n      <div class=\"sample-chapter\">\r\n        <h4 class=\"verse-styling\">Genesis 1:15<\/h4>\r\n        <p class=\"verse\">\r\n          And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give\r\n          light upon the earth: and it was so.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          These lights were created to give light upon the earth. It would\r\n          appear from this account that the earth was the focal point of God\u2019s\r\n          creation.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n      <\/div>\r\n      <div class=\"sample-chapter\">\r\n        <h4 class=\"verse-styling\">Genesis 1:16<\/h4>\r\n        <p class=\"verse\">\r\n          And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and\r\n          the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          This is the fourth day of creation. Yet, God created light on the\r\n          first day (Genesis 1:3). So, there was light three days before there\r\n          was a sun, a moon, or stars.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          The Hebrew word for \u201cmade\u201d in this verse is \u201c\u2018ASAH,\u201d and it means \u201cto\r\n          do or make, in the broadest sense and widest application (as follows)\u201d\r\n          (Strong\u2019s Concordance). It differs from the Hebrew word \u201cBARA\u2019,\u201d which\r\n          was translated \u201ccreated\u201d in Genesis 1:1. BARA\u2019 means \u201cto \u2018create out\r\n          of nothing\u2019\u201d (Vine\u2019s Expository Dictionary), while \u2018ASAH is speaking\r\n          of forming or molding something from existing materials (see my note\r\n          at Genesis 2:3). So, it appears that the materials for the sun, moon,\r\n          and stars were created in the beginning, but they were only made and\r\n          placed in their positions here on the fourth day of creation.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          Psalms 33:6 says all the hosts of heaven were created by the breath of\r\n          His mouth. That means the sun, which scientists estimate to be about\r\n          109 times bigger than the earth, came out of His mouth. And our sun is\r\n          one of the smaller suns. The temperature of our sun is supposed to be\r\n          nearly 10,000 degrees Fahrenheit on its surface. All of this came out\r\n          of God\u2019s mouth. That same mouth gave us God\u2019s Word. What a treasure!\r\n        <\/p>\r\n      <\/div>\r\n      <div class=\"sample-chapter\">\r\n        <h4 class=\"verse-styling\">Genesis 1:17<\/h4>\r\n        <p class=\"verse\">\r\n          And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the\r\n          earth,\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          God set the sun, moon, and stars in their places. They weren\u2019t just\r\n          thrown out there indiscriminately. The moon is at just the right\r\n          distance from the earth to control the ocean tides. The sun would kill\r\n          us if it was closer, and we would freeze if it was farther away. God\u2019s\r\n          wisdom is perfect.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          Notice that the purpose of the sun, moon, and stars is to light the\r\n          earth. The earth is the focal point of God\u2019s creation because man is\r\n          here.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n      <\/div>\r\n      <div class=\"sample-chapter\">\r\n        <h4 class=\"verse-styling\">Genesis 1:20<\/h4>\r\n        <p class=\"verse\">\r\n          And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving\r\n          creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the\r\n          open firmament of heaven.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          Just as with the trees and herbs springing forth from the land, it\r\n          would appear that everything it took for these animals to be created\r\n          was already in the seas and just needed to come forth at God\u2019s word.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>Notice that all fowl were created from the sea.<\/p>\r\n      <\/div>\r\n      <div class=\"sample-chapter\">\r\n        <h4 class=\"verse-styling\">Genesis 1:21<\/h4>\r\n        <p class=\"verse\">\r\n          And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth,\r\n          which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every\r\n          winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          These animals didn\u2019t have to be taught how to swim, fly, or reproduce.\r\n          They were created with all of this knowledge in them, just as we see\r\n          animals endowed with instinct today. If animals have all this\r\n          information just intuitively in them, then certainly God placed\r\n          intuitive knowledge inside all people (Romans 1:18-20). But man is so\r\n          smart that they exalt their own opinions over the wisdom God placed\r\n          inside of them.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n      <\/div>\r\n      <div class=\"sample-chapter\">\r\n        <h4 class=\"verse-styling\">Genesis 1:22<\/h4>\r\n        <p class=\"verse\">\r\n          And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the\r\n          waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          God\u2019s blessing is always given by what He says. Through God\u2019s words\r\n          every living thing on earth was blessed with the ability to procreate.\r\n          If this blessing isn\u2019t manifesting in a person\u2019s life, it can be\r\n          remedied by speaking the blessing of God\u2019s word over them.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          Notice that God spoke to all these animals. Is it therefore\r\n          unreasonable to believe that they understood Him? Does that mean they\r\n          can understand us?\r\n        <\/p>\r\n      <\/div>\r\n      <div class=\"sample-chapter\">\r\n        <h4 class=\"verse-styling\">Genesis 1:23<\/h4>\r\n        <p class=\"verse\">And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.<\/p>\r\n        <p>See my note at Genesis 1:5.<\/p>\r\n      <\/div>\r\n      <div class=\"sample-chapter\">\r\n        <h4 class=\"verse-styling\">Genesis 1:24<\/h4>\r\n        <p class=\"verse\">\r\n          And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his\r\n          kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his\r\n          kind: and it was so.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          Just as with the grasses, trees (Genesis 1:11), and the animals in the\r\n          sea (Genesis 1:20), God created all the land animals from the earth.\r\n          These things came forth from the physical elements that already\r\n          existed. But when God created man, He brought our spirits forth from\r\n          Himself (Genesis 1:26).\r\n        <\/p>\r\n      <\/div>\r\n      <div class=\"sample-chapter\">\r\n        <h4 class=\"verse-styling\">Genesis 1:25<\/h4>\r\n        <p class=\"verse\">\r\n          And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after\r\n          their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his\r\n          kind: and God saw that it was good.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          See my comments on \u201ccreated\u201d and \u201cmade\u201d in my note at Genesis 1:16.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          Notice that God made all of these animals after their own kind. They\r\n          didn\u2019t all evolve from one kind and then become many different kinds.\r\n          This disproves the theory of evolution for anyone who believes the\r\n          Bible.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n      <\/div>\r\n      <div class=\"sample-chapter\">\r\n        <h4 class=\"verse-styling\">Genesis 1:26<\/h4>\r\n        <p class=\"verse\">\r\n          And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and\r\n          let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of\r\n          the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every\r\n          creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          The Hebrew word \u201cELOHIYM\u201d that was translated \u201cGod\u201d in this verse is\r\n          always plural. This is reflected in the way this verse was translated\r\n          into the English as \u201clet us.\u201d\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          Notice that when the Lord created the trees, grass, herbs, and\r\n          animals, He said, \u201cLet the earth bring forth\u201d (Genesis 1:11 and 24).\r\n          When He created all the animals in the sea, He said, \u201cLet the waters\r\n          bring forth\u201d (Genesis 1:20). But when God made man, He said, \u201cLet us\u201d\r\n          (this verse). Plants and animals came from the ground. Sea creatures\r\n          and fowl came from the water. But mankind came from God Himself.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          Man was created last of all the creation of God. Thus everything was\r\n          prepared for him in advance. He didn\u2019t have to tread water for a few\r\n          days until the dry land appeared, and he didn\u2019t have to dodge trees\r\n          and shrubs as they suddenly appeared. If God would have created man\r\n          earlier, things wouldn\u2019t have been ready for him. But man was created\r\n          and then moved immediately into the rest of God where everything was\r\n          complete.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          Adam didn\u2019t have to plant trees or vegetables. They were already\r\n          created and producing fruit. All he had to do was partake of what was\r\n          already done. Likewise, in the new creation, Jesus has already\r\n          provided everything, and all we have to do is receive by faith what is\r\n          already ours. It\u2019s a done deal. We need to enter into the rest of the\r\n          Lord. Hebrews 4:9 says, \u201cThere remaineth therefore a rest to the\r\n          people of God.\u201d\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          In all the rest of creation, God just spoke and told the waters to\r\n          bring forth all the fish and fowls of the air. He told the earth to\r\n          bring forth all the animals. But even though He used the dust of the\r\n          earth to create man\u2019s body, He was directly involved in the creation\r\n          of man. Man was the crown jewel of His creation, and He took special\r\n          care and created man in His likeness and image.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          Man was like God in many ways. One obvious likeness was that man was\r\n          totally free to choose his course, as is God. He was made a free moral\r\n          agent in every sense of the word. The best choice is to follow the\r\n          will of the Lord, but God will protect man\u2019s freedom of choice, even\r\n          when that freedom brings suffering.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          Mankind was given unconditional authority over this earth. There were\r\n          no restrictions or things written in fine print. The rule of this\r\n          earth is man\u2019s to do with as they wish. In this sense, man\u2019s authority\r\n          is far superior to that of angels. Angels have delegated authority. If\r\n          they rebel, their God-given authority ends. Satan saw this, and\r\n          therefore got mankind to submit to him through lies and transfer this\r\n          authority over the earth to him through their obedience. Romans 6:16\r\n          says, \u201cKnow ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey,\r\n          his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of\r\n          obedience unto righteousness?\u201d\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          The creation of angels is not detailed in Scripture, nor is the time\r\n          of their creation given. We can be sure that the Lord didn\u2019t create\r\n          Satan. He created Lucifer, a godly angel (Isaiah 14 and Ezekiel 28),\r\n          and in a very real sense, man made Satan when they transferred their\r\n          God-given power and authority over to him (Romans 6:16).\r\n        <\/p>\r\n      <\/div>\r\n      <div class=\"sample-chapter\">\r\n        <h4 class=\"verse-styling\">Genesis 1:27<\/h4>\r\n        <p class=\"verse\">\r\n          So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he\r\n          him; male and female created he them.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          This account of the creation states that male and female were both\r\n          created on the sixth day of creation. The account given in Genesis 2\r\n          might imply that a period of time longer than a day passed between the\r\n          creation of Adam and the creation of Eve, but this verse would exclude\r\n          that. Suffice it to say that Scripture doesn\u2019t contradict itself.\r\n          Moses wouldn\u2019t have contradicted himself. Genesis 1 presents a broad\r\n          view of creation, and Genesis 2 focuses on the creation of man, the\r\n          animals, and Eve.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          It\u2019s possible that just as the earth and the seas already had\r\n          everything in them that it took to create the creatures and vegetation\r\n          that came out of them, likewise, Adam may have had female in him, but\r\n          Eve wasn\u2019t separated from him until later, as recorded in Genesis\r\n          2:18-23.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          Is it possible that the Lord created male and female both in Adam in\r\n          one day and then separated them into two people later on as detailed\r\n          in Genesis 2?\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          Notice that the Hebrew word \u201cBARA\u201d was used in this verse (translated\r\n          \u201ccreated\u201d) and that the word \u201cASAH\u201d was used in the previous verse to\r\n          speak of God making man (see my note on these Hebrew words at Genesis\r\n          1:16). It\u2019s appropriate to say that man was made and created. His body\r\n          was formed from the dust of the earth, and his spirit was created in\r\n          the likeness of God.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n      <\/div>\r\n      <div class=\"sample-chapter\">\r\n        <h4 class=\"verse-styling\">Genesis 1:28<\/h4>\r\n        <p class=\"verse\">\r\n          And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and\r\n          multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion\r\n          over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every\r\n          living thing that moveth upon the earth.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          Much has been made out of the word \u201creplenish\u201d in this verse. It\u2019s\r\n          been said that this is referring to the fact that the world had been\r\n          populated before and then destroyed, and had to be replenished. But\r\n          the Hebrew word \u201cMALE\u2019,\u201d translated \u201creplenish\u201d here, means \u201cto fill\r\n          or (intransitively) be full of, in a wide application (literally and\r\n          figuratively)\u201d (Strong\u2019s Concordance). It does not convey the meaning\r\n          of refilling, as some have tried to make it say.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          This error comes from a faulty understanding of words. Some words with\r\n          the prefix \u201cre-\u201d do mean to repeat an action such as the word\r\n          \u201crefill.\u201d But replenish doesn\u2019t mean that something was \u201cplenished\u201d\r\n          before and has to be \u201creplenished,\u201d any more than \u201creceive\u201d means\r\n          something was \u201cceived\u201d before and has to be \u201creceived.\u201d There is no\r\n          such word as \u201cplenish.\u201d\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          This faulty understanding of what the word \u201creplenish\u201d means is at the\r\n          heart of all the teaching based on a pre-Adamic civilization.\r\n          Therefore, I don\u2019t think that teaching is correct.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          This verse gives mankind a God-given mandate to subdue and dominate\r\n          every living thing on the earth. Later, God placed a fear of man in\r\n          every animal (Genesis 9:2).\r\n        <\/p>\r\n      <\/div>\r\n      <div class=\"sample-chapter\">\r\n        <h4 class=\"verse-styling\">Genesis 1:29<\/h4>\r\n        <p class=\"verse\">\r\n          And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which\r\n          is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the\r\n          fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          Man was created to be vegetarian. However, the Scripture clearly\r\n          teaches in 1 Timothy 4:1-5 that it is a doctrine of devils to preach\r\n          that we should not eat meat. In Genesis 9:3, the Lord told Noah and\r\n          his family that He had given them the beasts of the field for meat.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n      <\/div>\r\n      <div class=\"sample-chapter\">\r\n        <h4 class=\"verse-styling\">Genesis 1:30<\/h4>\r\n        <p class=\"verse\">\r\n          And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to\r\n          every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I\r\n          have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          Originally all of the animals God created were vegetarians. That has\r\n          since changed.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n      <\/div>\r\n      <div class=\"sample-chapter\">\r\n        <h4 class=\"verse-styling\">Genesis 1:31<\/h4>\r\n        <p class=\"verse\">\r\n          And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very\r\n          good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          To say that God\u2019s creation was \u201cvery good\u201d seems like a gross\r\n          understatement. It was and is awesome! But in contrast, the Father has now revealed Himself\r\n          perfectly through His Son, Jesus, in the New Covenant. The revelation\r\n          of the Father through Jesus is far superior than the Old Covenant\r\n          revelation of God. The Old Covenant wasn\u2019t inaccurate. It was\r\n          incomplete. We have a better revelation.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n      <\/div>\r\n      <div class=\"sample-chapter\">\r\n        <h4 class=\"verse-styling\">Hebrews 1:2<\/h4>\r\n        <p class=\"verse\">\r\n          Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath\r\n          appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          Jesus perfectly represented His Father to us. God the Father created\r\n          the worlds through Jesus. Colossians 1:16-17 says, \u201cFor by him were\r\n          all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible\r\n          and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or\r\n          principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for\r\n          him: And he is before all things, and by him do all things consist.\u201d\r\n          John 1:3 says, \u201cAll things were made by him; and without him was not\r\n          any thing made that was made.\u201d\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          Jesus is the heir to all that God has and is, and we are joint heirs\r\n          with Him (Romans 8:17).\r\n        <\/p>\r\n      <\/div>\r\n      <div class=\"sample-chapter\">\r\n        <h4 class=\"verse-styling\">Hebrews 1:3<\/h4>\r\n        <p class=\"verse\">\r\n          Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his\r\n          person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had\r\n          by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty\r\n          on high;\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          Isaiah 42:8 says the Lord will not share His glory with another.\r\n          Therefore, Jesus is the Lord. What a great testament to the deity of\r\n          Jesus.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          The Greek word \u201cCHARAKTER,\u201d from which \u201cexpress image\u201d was translated,\r\n          was defined by Strong\u2019s Concordance as \u201ca graver (the tool or the\r\n          person), i.e. (by implication) engraving ((\u2018character\u2019), the figure\r\n          stamped, i.e. an exact copy or (figuratively) representation).\u201d Jesus\r\n          was exactly like His Father. He was an exact copy. He perfectly\r\n          represented God to us. If we look at Jesus, we are looking at the\r\n          Father (John 14:9).\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          Colossians 1:17 says that \u201cby him all things consist.\u201d Jesus holds\r\n          creation together. If He were to break His Word (the Word that created\r\n          the universe, John 1:3), the universe would fly apart. Since creation\r\n          is still intact, we can be assured that He has never failed to keep\r\n          His Word. God\u2019s Word is the binding power that holds all creation\r\n          together. So when we speak God\u2019s Word in faith, that power is\r\n          released.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          After Jesus purged us of our sins, He sat down on the right hand of\r\n          the Father. The significance of this is that He doesn\u2019t still have to\r\n          cleanse us. He\u2019s seated. It\u2019s finished. Jesus doesn\u2019t have to\r\n          continually purge us from sin every time we sin. It was done once for\r\n          all time (Hebrews 10:10-14). We were forgiven of all sin: past-,\r\n          present-, and even future-tense sin (Hebrews 9:12 and 25-28).\r\n        <\/p>\r\n      <\/div>\r\n      <div class=\"sample-chapter\">\r\n        <h4 class=\"verse-styling\">Hebrews 1:4<\/h4>\r\n        <p class=\"verse\">\r\n          Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance\r\n          obtained a more excellent name than they.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          The purpose of the book of Hebrews is to establish that Jesus\r\n          supersedes all other beings and revelations of God. It is to prove\r\n          that we have a better covenant than the Old Covenant and move the\r\n          readers from the old to the new. Hebrews 1 shows that Jesus is greater\r\n          than any angel. He created the angels (John 1:3 and Colossians\r\n          1:16-17). He is God\u2019s Son and, therefore, God\u2019s heir. He has a greater\r\n          power and authority than the angels by inheritance.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n      <\/div>\r\n      <div class=\"sample-chapter\">\r\n        <h4 class=\"verse-styling\">Hebrews 1:5<\/h4>\r\n        <p class=\"verse\">\r\n          For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son,\r\n          this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father,\r\n          and he shall be to me a Son?\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          This is a quotation from Psalms 2:7\u2013\u201d\u2026Thou art my Son; this day have I\r\n          begotten thee.\u201d This was also quoted in Acts 13:33 and applied in a\r\n          way that reveals that the day in which Jesus was begotten was the day\r\n          of His resurrection from the dead.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          The latter part of this verse quotes 2 Samuel 7:14, 1 Chronicles\r\n          17:13, and 1 Chronicles 22:10. All of these verses are promises to the\r\n          seed of David that God will be their Father and he will be God\u2019s Son.\r\n          From Galatians 3:16, we see that the seed of David is Christ.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          The point the writer of Hebrews is making is that the O.T. statements\r\n          about Jesus elevate Him to a position higher than any angel.\r\n          Therefore, the word of Jesus is greater than the word of any angel.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n      <\/div>\r\n      <div class=\"sample-chapter\">\r\n        <h4 class=\"verse-styling\">Hebrews 1:6<\/h4>\r\n        <p class=\"verse\">\r\n          And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he\r\n          saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          God commanded the angels to worship Jesus at His birth (Luke 2:13).\r\n          This proves that Jesus is superior to the angels. They would not\r\n          worship an equal but a greater.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          The Jehovah\u2019s Witness organization preaches that Jesus was an angel,\r\n          specifically the O.T. Michael, the archangel. Therefore, they don\u2019t\r\n          believe Jesus was God but an angelic created being. This is heresy,\r\n          which denies the deity of Jesus. This is totally against what these\r\n          scriptures are presenting here.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p><\/p>\r\n        <p><\/p>\r\n        <p><\/p>\r\n        <p><\/p>\r\n      <\/div>\r\n      <div class=\"sample-chapter\">\r\n        <h4 class=\"verse-styling\">Hebrews 1:7<\/h4>\r\n        <p class=\"verse\">\r\n          And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his\r\n          ministers a flame of fire.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          This verse quotes Psalms 104:4. It is saying Jesus created the angels;\r\n          therefore, the Creator has to be superior to His creation.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n      <\/div>\r\n      <div class=\"sample-chapter\">\r\n        <h4 class=\"verse-styling\">Hebrews 1:8<\/h4>\r\n        <p class=\"verse\">\r\n          But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a\r\n          sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          This is quoting Psalms 45:6, which says, \u201cThy throne, O God, is for\r\n          ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre.\u201d God the\r\n          Father is referring to Jesus as God. This is conclusive proof of the\r\n          deity of the Lord Jesus Christ.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n      <\/div>\r\n      <div class=\"sample-chapter\">\r\n        <h4 class=\"verse-styling\">Hebrews 1:9<\/h4>\r\n        <p class=\"verse\">\r\n          Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even\r\n          thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy\r\n          fellows.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          The author of Hebrews continues his quote from Psalms 45. In the\r\n          previous verse, which is a quote from Psalms 45:6, God the Father\r\n          called Jesus \u201cGod.\u201d Now, in Psalms 45:7, the writer speaks of the God\r\n          of the one who God just called God (i.e. Jesus). All of this is to say\r\n          that the Father and Jesus are both referred to as God. In light of the\r\n          scripture from Deuteronomy 6:4, which says, \u201cHear, O Israel: The Lord\r\n          our God is one LORD,\u201d there can be no doubt that Jesus and the Father\r\n          are both God, and yet they are not two Gods but one God. Of course,\r\n          the Holy Spirit is part of this Godhead also. The term Christianity\r\n          has come up with to try and define this is \u201ctrinity.\u201d\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          Notice also in Psalms 45:7 that the Lord anointed Jesus with the oil\r\n          of gladness above all His fellows. That means Jesus was the happiest\r\n          man on the earth. He was a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief\r\n          (Isaiah 53:3), but He was also happier than anyone else. Religion has\r\n          obstructed this view of Jesus, and therefore has produced a lot of sad\r\n          Christians.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n      <\/div>\r\n      <div class=\"sample-chapter\">\r\n        <h4 class=\"verse-styling\">Hebrews 1:10<\/h4>\r\n        <p class=\"verse\">\r\n          And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the\r\n          earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands:\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          In Hebrews 1:2, the writer said God the Father created all things by\r\n          Jesus. So, it was Jesus that laid the foundation of the earth, and the\r\n          works of the heavens are the works of Jesus\u2019 hands. Jesus was not just\r\n          a man. He was God manifest in the flesh, and now He is God in a\r\n          glorified body.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n      <\/div>\r\n      <div class=\"sample-chapter\">\r\n        <h4 class=\"verse-styling\">Hebrews 1:11<\/h4>\r\n        <p class=\"verse\">\r\n          They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as\r\n          doth a garment;\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          This verse is continuing to speak of Jesus. Jesus will outlast His\r\n          creation. If He will outlast the heavens, then certainly He is more\r\n          than a man or angel. He is God manifest in the flesh.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n      <\/div>\r\n      <div class=\"sample-chapter\">\r\n        <h4 class=\"verse-styling\">Hebrews 1:12<\/h4>\r\n        <p class=\"verse\">\r\n          And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed:\r\n          but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          Jesus is the One who created the heavens and the earth, and He will be\r\n          the One to destroy them. Therefore, He is superior to creation and all\r\n          created beings, including angels.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n      <\/div>\r\n      <div class=\"sample-chapter\">\r\n        <h4 class=\"verse-styling\">Hebrews 1:13<\/h4>\r\n        <p class=\"verse\">\r\n          But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand,\r\n          until I make thine enemies thy footstool?\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          This is a quotation from Psalms 110:1, which says, \u201cThe Lord said unto\r\n          my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy\r\n          footstool.\u201d Here again is one Lord (God the Father) speaking to\r\n          another Lord (Jesus) to sit at His (the Father\u2019s) right hand. The\r\n          point is that Jesus was not just an angel. He is the Son of God, God\r\n          in the flesh, and a part of the Godhead.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n      <\/div>\r\n      <div class=\"sample-chapter\">\r\n        <h4 class=\"verse-styling\">Hebrews 1:14<\/h4>\r\n        <p class=\"verse\">\r\n          Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them\r\n          who shall be heirs of salvation?\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p>\r\n          All angels are commissioned by God to minister to those who SHALL BE\r\n          heirs of salvation. This means that the angels\u2019 assignment to us\r\n          doesn\u2019t start after we get saved. They are ministering to us even in\r\n          our lost state, because the Lord knows we SHALL BECOME followers of\r\n          the Lord Jesus Christ.
