We have been talking about racism in America for over\u00a0<\/span><\/span>four hundred<\/span><\/span>\u00a0years,\u00a0<\/span><\/span>and<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>it is still a hot topic today. In 2020,\u00a0<\/span><\/span>there were about 570<\/span><\/span>\u00a0violent<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>demonstrations<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>nationwide<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>claimed to be\u00a0<\/span><\/span>motivated by rac<\/span><\/span>ial issues<\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>T<\/span><\/span>he church has a vital role in\u00a0<\/span><\/span>standing<\/span><\/span>\u00a0against national division<\/span><\/span>, and\u00a0<\/span><\/span>as<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Christian<\/span><\/span>s<\/span><\/span>,<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>it is crucial to recognize this truth:\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/span>r<\/span><\/span>acism is not a skin problem\u00a0<\/span><\/span>but<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>rather\u00a0<\/span><\/span>a sin problem<\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

If you\u00a0<\/span><\/span>look\u00a0<\/span><\/span>in<\/span><\/span>\u00a0Genesis, you will<\/span><\/span>\u00a0see that<\/span><\/span>\u00a0the first thing\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Adam\u00a0<\/span><\/span>noticed<\/span><\/span>\u00a0when he sinned\u00a0<\/span><\/span>and ate of the forbidden fruit\u00a0<\/span><\/span>was\u00a0<\/span><\/span>appearance<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>related\u2014he realized he was naked!\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Before<\/span><\/span>\u00a0he sinned, he\u00a0<\/span><\/span>had<\/span><\/span>\u00a0never<\/span><\/span>\u00a0pa<\/span><\/span>id<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>any\u00a0<\/span><\/span>attention to\u00a0<\/span><\/span>his\u00a0<\/span><\/span>outward\u00a0<\/span><\/span>appearance<\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

L<\/span><\/span>ook at\u00a0<\/span><\/span>what God said\u00a0<\/span><\/span>to Adam\u00a0<\/span><\/span>in Genesis 2:17<\/span><\/span>:\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u201cF<\/span><\/span>or in the day that you eat of\u00a0<\/span><\/span>[the fruit]<\/span><\/span>\u00a0you shall surely die<\/span><\/span>\u201d<\/span><\/span>\u00a0(<\/span><\/span>New King James Version<\/span><\/span>).<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>When Adam<\/span><\/span>\u00a0disobeyed God<\/span><\/span>,<\/span><\/span>\u00a0he<\/span><\/span>\u00a0died spiritually.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>He<\/span><\/span>\u00a0became self-<\/span><\/span>conscious<\/span><\/span>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span><\/span>aware<\/span><\/span>\u00a0of<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>physical differences among\u00a0<\/span><\/span>humanity<\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>If you read further, you will<\/span><\/span>\u00a0s<\/span><\/span>ee\u00a0<\/span><\/span>additional\u00a0<\/span><\/span>divisions that\u00a0<\/span><\/span>resulted\u00a0<\/span><\/span>from Adam\u2019s fall<\/span><\/span>,<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>like Cain killing his brother Abel.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Ever since sin entered the world, division and hatred have ruled in the heart of mankind.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Prejudice, fear, and oppression<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>became a<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>sinful<\/span><\/span>\u00a0pattern<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>globally<\/span><\/span>\u2014<\/span><\/span>not just\u00a0<\/span><\/span>in the last\u00a0<\/span><\/span>four hundred<\/span><\/span>\u00a0years and not just\u00a0<\/span><\/span>in\u00a0<\/span><\/span>America.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

You should also know that there are right and wrong ways to approach the topic of racism.<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

T<\/span><\/span>wo\u00a0<\/span><\/span>common<\/span><\/span>,<\/span><\/span>\u00a0ineffective<\/span><\/span>\u00a0approaches\u00a0<\/span><\/span>that\u00a0<\/span><\/span>people<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>use<\/span><\/span>\u00a0are<\/span><\/span>\u00a0attacking and defending.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>You will often see the issue\u00a0<\/span><\/span>of racism\u00a0<\/span><\/span>politicized. People will attack\u00a0<\/span><\/span>and<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>label<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>any<\/span><\/span>one\u00a0<\/span><\/span>who does not support a particular\u00a0<\/span><\/span>political\u00a0<\/span><\/span>agenda<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>a<\/span><\/span>s<\/span><\/span>\u00a0racist<\/span><\/span>.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>You will also see people\u00a0<\/span><\/span>getting defensive\u00a0<\/span><\/span>and claiming\u00a0<\/span><\/span>that\u00a0<\/span><\/span>they<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>aren\u2019t\u00a0<\/span><\/span>racis<\/span><\/span>t\u00a0<\/span><\/span>because<\/span><\/span>\u00a0their<\/span><\/span>\u00a0ancestors never owned slaves<\/span><\/span>.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>However, as Christians, we know a better way to approach the issue.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Since racism is a sin issue, the only cure is Jesus.<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

Jesus came to change the condition of our heart<\/span><\/span>s.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0As Christian<\/span><\/span>s<\/span><\/span>,\u00a0<\/span><\/span>we<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>no<\/span><\/span>\u00a0longer\u00a0<\/span><\/span>have the sin nature\u00a0<\/span><\/span>of Adam<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>but<\/span><\/span>\u00a0the perfect nature<\/span><\/span>\u00a0of<\/span><\/span>\u00a0Christ<\/span><\/span>, and<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>we\u00a0<\/span><\/span>can now<\/span><\/span>\u00a0love others\u00a0<\/span><\/span>the way He loves us. In other words, y<\/span><\/span>ou have the power<\/span><\/span>\u00a0through Christ\u00a0<\/span><\/span>to\u00a0<\/span><\/span>unify<\/span><\/span>\u00a0a divided America<\/span><\/span>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span><\/span>change the\u00a0<\/span><\/span>social\u00a0<\/span><\/span>climate!<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
