You Were Never Meant to Run on Empty<\/strong><\/p>\n

Have you ever had a powerful encounter with God, only to feel it slip away after a few days, weeks, or months? It\u2019s like you were on fire for God, but then the cares of life crept in, and the excitement dimmed. I\u2019ve seen this happen to so many people. I remember ministering in Louisville, Kentucky, years ago. A woman came up to me after a service with tears in her eyes. She told me how much the teaching had transformed her life and how, for the first time, she really understood the love of God. But then she said, \u201cI know this won\u2019t last. It may only be a week or a month, but I\u2019m just enjoying the love of God more than I ever have.\u201d<\/p>\n

Her words really grieved my heart because it doesn\u2019t have to be that way. Yet for so many Christians, that\u2019s their experience. They think God\u2019s touch is something temporary, something they can\u2019t sustain. It\u2019s like they believe they\u2019re a bucket with holes in it, and they\u2019re constantly leaking out everything God pours into them.<\/p>\n

Brothers and sisters, if that\u2019s been your experience, I want you to know something: you don\u2019t have to live like that. You don\u2019t have to lose what God gives you and constantly need a fresh touch from Him. You can stay full<\/em> of God, not just for a week or a month, but every day of your life!<\/p>\n

From Glory to Glory, Not Pit to Pit<\/strong><\/p>\n

When God touched my life on March 23, 1968, it turned my world upside down. I felt so full of His presence that I didn\u2019t think it could get any better. And I can tell you, more than fifty years later, that love and revelation are stronger in my life now than they were back then. I haven\u2019t lost it. In fact, it\u2019s grown.<\/p>\n

This is how the Christian life is meant to be. Second Corinthians 3:18 says we\u2019re supposed to go from glory to glory\u2014not from pit to pit. But sad to say, most Christians live on a roller coaster. They experience highs and lows that make their walk with God feel inconsistent. That\u2019s not what God intended.<\/p>\n

Isaiah 40:4 says that the valleys would be exalted and the mountains and hills made low. If you bring the valleys up and the mountains down, it should be smooth sailing. I\u2019m not saying that we\u2019ll never have problems. I\u2019ve had terrible things happen to me. But they\u2019ve never diminished the revelation of God\u2019s love for me. Instead, that truth has become even more real and powerful in my life.<\/p>\n

The Gospel: Nearly Too Good to Be True<\/strong><\/p>\n

It all starts with understanding the Gospel. When I say \u201cGospel,\u201d I\u2019m talking about the nearly-too-good-to-be-true news that Jesus took your sin, gave you His righteousness, and made you right with God. It\u2019s the news that God isn\u2019t angry with you anymore.<\/p>\n

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.<\/em><\/p>\n

Romans 1:16\u201317<\/p>\n

This isn\u2019t something you experience once and then move on. Romans 1:16 calls the Gospel \u201cthe power of God unto salvation.\u201d<\/em> That power is available to you every day<\/em>, not just in the big moments, but in the quiet, everyday parts of life. When you understand and meditate on the goodness of God, it changes the way you think, live, and relate to Him.<\/p>\n

Religion often focuses on sin, judgment, and trying to scare people into repentance. But Romans 2:4 says it\u2019s the goodness<\/em> of God that leads people to repentance. When you truly understand how much God loves you, it changes everything. You stop living like a roller-coaster Christian, and you start walking in a consistent, growing relationship with Him.<\/p>\n

The Choice We Face<\/strong><\/p>\n

In 1 Timothy 4:1\u20132, Paul warned that in the last days, many would depart from the faith, following deceptive spirits. The truth is, every decision we make is shaped by spiritual forces, and we\u2019re either being drawn closer to God or deceived by the devil. If you\u2019re not being led by God\u2019s truth, you\u2019re being led by something else\u2014there\u2019s no middle ground. I know some people don\u2019t like hearing that, but it\u2019s what the Word says, and it\u2019s the truth. The power lies in your choice\u2014whether to surrender to God\u2019s guidance or give in to the enemy\u2019s subtle influence.<\/p>\n

God\u2019s Inner GPS<\/strong><\/p>\n

Your conscience is a gift from God\u2014a constant, internal compass guiding you toward truth. Romans 1:18-20; 2:14\u201315 and 1 Timothy 4:2 show that every person has this inner knowledge of God, whether they acknowledge it or not. And it\u2019s only when they continually reject it that they move further away from God. Over time, this can lead to a hardened heart. That\u2019s a dangerous place to be, where you can no longer feel the conviction of the Holy Spirit. But no one starts out that way. That\u2019s why it\u2019s so important to stay sensitive to the Lord\u2019s voice.<\/p>\n
